Palm Beach Homes For Sale

For those looking for Gilded Age elegance, Palm Beach may be the place for you. Separated from the mainland by Lake Worth, Palm Beach with its old-world charm is one of the most affluent towns in the world. The history of Palm Beach is matched by its white sand beaches that offer a variety of outdoor recreations and charming boutiques that line the world-famous Worth Avenue.

Whether you feel more at home in Greco Roman mansions, contemporary Palm Beach apartments or upscale Palm Beach condos, Palm Beach real estate has something perfect for you.

Tropical landscaping is a feature of many Palm Beach homes, helping to blend them seamlessly into the natural surroundings.

This concern to preserve the beauty of Palm Beach is further enhanced by a historic preservation program and strict zoning laws, which prohibit commercial properties and condominiums from being built in specific areas such as North Palm Beach. Making it a particularly attractive area for those seeking Palm Beach homes for sale that make use of the island's beachfront beauty.

Palm Beach's Rich History

The exclusive Palm Beach Island is separated from its neighbors West Palm Beach and Lake Worth by the Intracoastal Waterway. As of 2010, Palm Beach had a year-round population of 8,348, while about 20,000 more have seasonal homes there where they enjoy winter months. In 2018, Bloomberg ranked Palm Beach as the 27th-wealthiest place in the United States. The Town of Palm Beach was incorporated on April 17, 1911 as the second recognized municipality in Palm Beach County.

  • When Flagler extended his railroad to Palm Beach, it ran onto a 1,000-foot long pier in the Atlantic, making it easy for ships to deliver cargo and passengers. The 1928 hurricane destroyed it.
  • Mar-a-Lago, originally a private residence for the cereal heiress Marjory Post, was purchased by now-President Donald Trump in 1985, and was transformed into the Mar-a-Lago Club in 1995.  It is also the second-largest mansion in Florida and the 21st largest in the United States.
  • Notable residents of Palm Beach have included Addison Mizner, Donald Trump, Howard Stern, Jon Bon Jovi, Bernard Madoff, John Lennon, the Kennedy family, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Buffet, as well as several of the nation's most prominent families like the Posts, Astors, and the Vanderbilts.

Palm Beach Communities

Palm Beach Island Estates Section

Just south of the world-renowned Worth Avenue lies the Estate Section of Palm Beach Island. The magnificent estate homes have kept the Island of Palm Beach at the forefront of the most prestigious and desirable locations in South Florida.

The Estates Section is home to several landmarks including the Bath and Tennis Club, Mar-a-Lago Club, and Everglades Island, which overlooks the stunning Lake Worth Lagoon and the golf course of the Everglades Club.  Conveniently located to town, this section of Palm Beach Island offers oceanfront homes, Intracoastal homes, as well as ocean to lake homes which stretch the entire width of the island.

The addition of Providence Marketplace in 2016 added more than 50 retailers and a 14-screen theater to the town as well. With a median age of 35, this is a young community, and there's a liveliness to life here that you might not expect.

Palm Beach Island "In-Town" Real Estate

Set in the center of Palm Beach Island, In-Town, or Mid-Town offers luxurious Palm Beach Island homes and condos. The proximity of Worth Avenue to these properties ensures that the area is highly desirable for its superb shopping and dining. Historical walking tours of Worth Avenue emphasize that this hub of luxury has a long tradition of style and grandeur.

Palm Beach Island's North End

With a combination of large Palm Beach Oceanfront Estates and smaller Palm Beach homes, the area serves a wide range of price points, from the mid-$800's to over $10 million. Ending at the Palm Beach Inlet, the North End remains less traveled, creating an almost suburban area compared to the central parts of the island. The beaches of the North End are beautiful, and many of them provide elaborate, beach cabanas perfect for oceanfront entertaining.

Another great outdoor amenity of this area is the Palm Beach Bike Trail which stretches from the middle of the island up to its northern tip. The trail runs along the lake, providing great views and many outdoor activities.
