Lighthouse Point is a city in Broward County, Florida, located just north of Pompano Beach and south of Deerfield Beach, FL.  The city was named for the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, which is located in nearby Hillsboro Beach.  The City of Lighthouse Point was incorporated in 1956 with just 600 residents in the then town.  During the late 1950's and early 1960's the subdivisions of Venetian Isles, Lighthouse Manor, Coral Key, Wooler Heights, and Pompano Waterway Estates were officially added, increasing the land area to over two square miles and a population of almost 9,500 residents.
